Sari's necklace

The final view of this necklace. I need to take better pictures. I used chatons and a gold bead to make this more balanced. The bee at the bottom is a gold and gemstone pin a student gave my mother years ago.

This was a labor of love. Duracoat beads in colors the owner likes. It took forever, but the fit worked and I'm proud of it.

Other beading activities you enjoy or want to learn about?
I'd like to learn more wirework.
About Me:
I suffer from shyness and I haven't yet learned how to photograph my work and post itl I am the mother of two grown children. My daughter has chosen to present me with a great dane rather than a grandchild. The damndog is huge and I have two others of my own.
I have travelled quite a bit. I speak French cheerfully and badly, I went to school there. I have friends and relatives all over the world.
I am a retired college English teacher. I hope to stay retired.
Whoops, the damndogs have caught sight of a lovely doggie walking sedately with his owner. Naturally mine are raising a riot.
I still have one son at home. He has MS, and thank God he's asymtomatic at the moment.

Damn dogs

Posted on November 29, 2012 at 6:34am 0 Comments 0 Likes

I used to visit this site often. I dreamed of posting some beautiful object. kThen I was landed with two Great kDane puppies. I can't spell cause the bandage on my finger hampers my typing. My finger is damaged becuase I had to scoop out Grover's mouth. Has any of you scooped out a GD's mouth lately?

Anyone who can bead with more that four dogs, please write. I need help.

Yours,

Nancy kBlignaut owner of one junkyard dog, one sometime terrier and dogsitter for my…

Any help would be welcome...BEAD TARNISH

Posted on August 4, 2011 at 6:34am 0 Comments 0 Likes

So I cheerfully pack up my beads and send them to my female family....well at least to the two I like. I feel secure. I have made something beautiful, something lasting, something they can wear forever.

ONLY ACK. I took off a necklace I made for myself (I get selfish) and finally noted that the bead tubes I'd made around the back of the necklace were not their original colour. Indeed they looked awfully seedy. (sorry). I hadn't used dyed beads, nor had I used the ones I gathered were…

Oh My! I have a blog. I didn't know I did.

So I can direct my friends here and have them read about my sometimes life, or is this just for the beads? Not that the two are always distingishible. (sp) That note means that I don't know if I spelled the word right, it's a way of avoiding shame. It's the English teacher syndrome. One must be impeccable when spelling. One must be impeccable in grammar.Actually one is never perfect. The game is always faking it. Years of suffering nuns taught me that. The dear souls also taught me the art…

Thank you for the nice comment Nancy. I love to wear jewelry like this in the winter, it brings me a little sunshine. I also think there is symmetry in it as well, but everyone has his opinion. And I am glad with every opinion, it learns me to look after things.

Thanks Nancy, and yes sometimes I am all bundled up in the boat when the temp goes to the minuses (thank god it doesn't happen to much in Vancouver).  I can't wait for the spring, the cherry blossoms are budding and soon will be in full bloom.

I love your pieces - each one is gorgeous and so different from the others. The free from is sooo cool.  And the crystal 'cuff' is elegant.

Hi!
Thanks for the message. My folks came from the Highlands, Scotland. I, too suffer from Camera Illiteracy! I am really a novice to the beading world. I really want to learn bead weaving and bead embroidery. I am using this site for inspiration, plus I want to post some photos and get some feedback.
